A message from CSI’s International President
Pray for the Suffering Parts of the Body of Christ
Part of our calling as Christians is to intercede for this world in prayer. We lift up those who suffer to the Almighty and ask for His help.
The Bible tells us that these victims of religious persecution are brothers and sisters in Christ. They are parts of the worldwide Body of Christ to which we belong. “When one part suffers” the Apostle Paul tells us, “all parts suffer with it”. (I Cor. 12:26)
You can make a difference – by encouraging prayer for the world’s persecuted Christians in your weekly worship services and prayer meetings.
CSI can help. Every month we publish the names and details of Christians who suffer for their faith. These cases are intended to be used in prayers of intercession. They can help direct our hearts and minds to specific individuals and many others that suffer similarly for their faith.
We will also share the good news of the liberation of Christian prisoners, slaves, bonded labor, and victims of human trafficking, so that you can life up prayers of praise and thanksgiving as well as intercession.

Prayer topics for October
Sunday 4 October 2026: NIGERIA
Ruth Musa and her husband Paul, a pastor, were kidnapped by Islamist terror group Boko Haram in March 2023. In June 2024 Boko Haram threatened to kill the couple unless a huge ransom was paid. It is believed that Paul has since been killed. Ruth was seen without him in a video issued by Boko Haram in August.
We pray for freedom for Ruth, and for all victims of kidnappings in Nigeria.
Sunday 11 October 2026: NEPAL
The Bijas, a pastor and his wife, live in an area that was severely affected by the flashfloods at the end of August. They have been cut off from their grown-up children who are on the other side of the river. Many people in their community are still missing. Despite their own difficult situation, the couple try to encourage others not to give up.
We pray for the Bijas and all victims of the flashfloods in Nepal.
Sunday 18 October: CHINA
Wang Lin, a pastor in Beijing’s Zion Church, a prominent house church, was one of 18 pastors and co-workers arrested in a clampdown by the Chinese authorities in October 2025. Nine have since been released on bail, but Wang and eight others remain detained and now face additional charges. (source: ChinaAid; image: USCIRF)
We pray for the release of Wang Lin and the other house church detainees, and for all Christians facing persecution in China.
Sunday 25 October: SOUTH SUDAN
Abuk Machar Tong, a South Sudanese Christian woman, has been freed after 28 years of slavery in Sudan. Abuk, 40, was captured by an Islamist militia in 1998 during Sudan’s civil war. She is one of more than 160,000 people Christian Solidarity International (CSI) has helped free from slavery in Sudan.
We give thanks that Abuk is free, and pray for all those South Sudanese still held captive in Sudan.
